Football Scholarships Open Doors to Opportunity
Are you a high school football star? Do you live and breathe your sport? If so, you can turn your athletic interest and skill into valuable cash for college through football scholarships. These scholarships are available through colleges and universities, through private organizations, and through other sources. Award amounts vary but can be quite lucrative, especially if you earn scholarship funds from more than one source. Check out these excellent scholarships for a start:
Metro Youth Football Scholarship
The MYFA provides football scholarships to promote the importance of education and to promote personal development and education as part of a well-rounded athlete’s life. To be eligible, students must be planning to pursue education after high school and must have played in the Metro Youth Tackle Football program. Students must also have at least a 2.5 GPA and have demonstrated high moral character, citizenship, sportsmanship, academic success, and leadership potential. To apply, students must complete the application and essay and submit a letter of recommendation. Details and applications are available at www.metroyouthfootball.com.
Athletes USA offers football scholarships that are perfect for students fresh out of high school but who are not yet ready for NAIA competition. While this site does not actually provide the scholarships, they offer a service that allows football athletes to get their names out to various college teams and to find the football scholarships they need to attend college. All you have to do is fill out a free application at www.athletes-usa.com. If the consultants feel that you are right for a college football scholarship, you will be invited to join the Exclusive Program. Once in this program, a consultant will walk you through every step of the scholarship process.
