FIDM Designer of Tomorrow Scholarship Competition
Would you like to earn a one –year scholarship to FIDM? If so, there are three of these $5,000 fashion scholarships waiting to be claimed. The competition is open to high school seniors as well as incoming freshmen and transfer students. The competition rewards students who exhibit creativity and unconventional style. There are several categories in which to enter, each with its own guidelines. A winner and three finalists are chosen in each category and are chosen based on thoughtfulness, creativity, promise, and presentation. Stella Blum Research Grant
The Stella Blum Student Research Grant provides fashion scholarships to current undergraduate or graduate students who are members of the Costume Society of America and who are working in North American costume. The grant is for $2,000 to cover the cost of research and comes with an additional $500 travel stipend for attendance at the National Symposium. To be eligible, students must be currently working in a degree program at an accredited college or university and be researching a North American costume project. Funds may be used for transportation to and from the research site, living expenses at the research site, supplies, postage and telephone expenses, and required graphics and computer services. To apply, students must submit a cover sheet, an abstract, a full proposal with budget, proof of student status, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and letters of permission from research sites. All materials are due by May 1. Recipients will be chosen based on contribution to the field of costume, time frame and work plan, feasibility, bibliography, methodology, qualifications, and budget. Two Ten Footwear Design Scholarship
These fashion scholarships are specifically designed for students interested in a career in footwear design. All undergraduate and graduate students in a design program with an emphasis on footwear are invited to apply. Scholarships are awarded based on academic record, financial need, and design potential. YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund
These fashion scholarships are designed to promote the education of fashion arts and business by providing funding, internships, career services, and mentoring to talented fashion students. Each year, the fund provides 80 scholarships worth $5,000 each as well as four scholarships valued at $25,000 each. All award recipients will be presented with funds at the FSF Annual Award Dinner in New York City. WJA Women’s Jewelry Scholarship
These fashion scholarships are available to WJA members. Each qualifying member can submit one application each year. Awards are made by random drawing. Grants will cover education costs and will be awarded after submission of proof of payment for enrollment and qualifying materials. In addition to the grants, student WJA members can apply for scholarships between $500 and $7,000 in value. These scholarships are available to female students enrolled in watch design and fine jewelry courses. Applications can be made online through www.callforentry.org and are due by April 15.
