Alpha Gamma Rho Dairy Scholarships

The Alpha Gamma Rho Dairy Scholarships are designed to encourage and recognize academic excellence and the attainment of knowledge by members. When determining awards, the fraternity considers academic standing, achievement, leadership, and contributions to the organization and the community. National Potato Council Scholarship

The National Potato Council provides agriculture scholarships each year in the amount of $5,000 to one graduate student who is researching material that will benefit the commercial potato industry. Recipients are chosen based on leadership, academic achievement, abilities, potato-related studies, commercial value of the research, grades, and extracurricular activities. Applicants must explain how academic and career goals qualify them for the scholarship and how studies will provide benefit to the potato industry in the United States. When applying, include transcripts of all college work, a cumulative grade point average, a resume, a list of community service and leadership experiences, and a list of references. NPFDA Scholarship Foundation, Inc.

These agriculture scholarships are provided by the National Poultry and Food Distributors Association in amounts ranging from $1,500 to $2,000. Eligible applicants must be college juniors or seniors during the award year and must be enrolled full-time in a poultry or related ag business or agricultural degree such as poultry science, food science, animal science, pre vet, food marketing, agricultural economics, and others. Beef Industry Scholarship

The Beef Industry offers ten agriculture scholarships of $1,500 each year to students who are interested in beef industry careers. Eligible fields of study for these scholarships include communications, education, production, research, or any other beef industry-related fields. To be eligible, applicants must be seniors in high school or full-time students in an accredited undergraduate program. To be considered, students must have shown a commitment to working in the beef industry through life experience, classes, and internships. To apply, students must submit a completed application along with a one-page description of future career goals, a 750 word essay on a beef-industry issue, two letters of recommendation, and a Beef Industry Scholarship cover page by December 14. Texas Agricultural Irrigation Association Scholarship

The Dick Laursen Memorial Agricultural Scholarships were created in honor of a life-long irrigation specialist. To be eligible, students must be majoring in an agricultural program at an accredited college or university in Texas. Students must also be full-time students with at least a 2.5 GPA. Applicants must submit a completed application with a 1,000 word essay by March 1. Recipients do not have to be residents of Texas. Winners will receive $500 per semester up to a maximum of $4,000 over a four-year period. Applications and details are available at

National Dairy Shrine Milk Marketing Scholarships

These agriculture scholarships are designed to encourage talented undergraduate students to enter the field of dairy marketing. The funds are available to students in the sophomore year or above of college who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. One student will receive a $1,500 scholarship and up to six additional applicants will receive $1,000 each. Applications can be found at and must be submitted by April 15.

Louis R and Helen E Schwartz FFA Agricultural Scholarship

In order to qualify for these agriculture scholarships, applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be graduating high school seniors who are residents of Muscatine County, Iowa, Saginaw County, Michigan, or Lyon County, Minnesota. Applicants must be planning to earn a degree in an agriculture-related occupation as full-time students. Applications are scored based on leadership, recommendations, financial need, work experience, degree sought, essay, high school ag studies, church and community activities, school activities, and 4H or FFA participation. Michael R. Mettler Memorial Scholarship

The Michael R. Mettler Memorial agriculture scholarships are provided by the Kern County Farm Bureau. The funds are available to high school seniors or college students in the first three years of study in an agriculture-related degree program. Students in veterinary studies may be considered if they are specializing in large animal husbandry.
